I have had the privilege again of capturing the the Shadow Mountain High School Matadors baseball team portraits- this was our 5th year partnering for senior banners and full team individual and group photos!
My job as their photographer is truly enjoyable. I know the parents and the coaches well now, and that trust relaxes everyone. We kicked things off with the full team portrait, where the players assembled in their vibrant uniforms, ready to etch their mark in the annals of Shadow Mountain High School baseball history.

We covered group and individual portraits, I always take 3-4 of each individual because the guys want straight face fierce and cool pics, and I know mamas want those toothy grins, so I aim to make em all happy! Some struck confident poses, while others couldn't help but crack a few jokes, keeping the mood light and enjoyable. It is a glimpse into the tight-knit bond they share, both on and off the field.

The senior portrait segment is always special- I ask coaches for one full hour with the guys so we can get multiple individual portraits similar to my senior picture sessions, group photos of the seniors together, a short senior video, and a whole lot of social media material for the boosters running fundraisers and Instagram accounts. Then I get multiple poses on a backdrop to edit into epic Drew Struzman style posters & banners (Struzman is the artist behind those classic Indiana Jones posters and more) I also build a digital poster Like a movie theatre images of all of the senior together. This year, four exceptional players were about to play in their final season, saying farewell to their high school careers, and I wanted to ensure they left with a lasting memories. The senior banners, a cherished tradition at Shadow Mountain High School, allowed these young men to showcase their individuality and celebrate their achievements on the fence and flex a little at games.
Seniors Alex, Mario, Robert, and Vince, embody the spirit of the Matadors with his infectious energy. I have seen a few of these guys in Football and Basketball- they are really all around athletes! For parents, witnessing their child's senior year is a bittersweet experience. On one hand, there's immense pride in their growth and accomplishments, but on the other, there's the realization that they're about to embark on a new chapter, leaving the familiar behind. It's a moment filled with excitement, hope, and a touch of melancholy, all of which I aimed to capture through my images. They couldn't wait to see the final results, knowing that these portraits would serve as a lasting reminder of their time as Matadors, a bond that transcends the boundaries of the baseball diamond.

The Matador Baseball Teams Fearless Leaders!

My favorite part is always buddy photos towards the end of the session, when the guys get to show off their personalities and joke with friends. Some maybe not so much ha! Their camaraderie was evident as they joked and encouraged one another, goofing around with now life long friends and making memories they don’t yet realize they will look back on for years.

If you're a parent, coach, or team member seeking to immortalize your own special moments, I would love to be a part of your team memories. My goal is to provide an affordable, professional, and consistent experience that boosts self-esteem while ensuring a fun and memorable time for all. My always custom to team and season banners stand out, becoming posters for the fences to celebrate the season before being cherished keepsakes for years to come.
