The Perry High School Puma Regiment marching band is back and better than ever! After winning first place at the AZMBA State Championships in 2022, the band is ready to take on the competition this season. The band is led by Director of Bands Benjamin Sampayan and Associate Director Christine Smith. These two are passionate about music and teaching, and they've created a band that is both talented and disciplined. Practicing several hours every day, they often have to miss school events and activities, yet are dedicated to their music, and they know that the hard work will pay off in the end. This band has faced many challenges over the years, but they've never given up. They've dealt with injuries, illness, and the oven we call Arizona and they've always come out stronger.
The band's perseverance is evident in their performance. They're always giving their best, knowing that every performance is an opportunity to showcase their talent and dedication. The Puma Regiment stole the spotlight at the AZMBA State Championships. The crowd roared as they clinched the FIRST PLACE victory with a remarkable score of 88.125. But that's not all – they also snagged the coveted music caption award, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the marching band scene. The hard work, countless hours of practice, and unwavering determination had paid off in the most triumphant way possible.. They're confident that they can defend their title, and they're ready to show everyone what they're made of. You will definitely want to catch a performance of the show this year!
